Everyone wants a job in cybersecurity but not everybody is willing to put in the time to get one.Getting credible experience makes a huge difference and doing these “cyber programs” and memorizing answers on a test will only get you so far. The crazy job requirements aside for just a moment, I’ve spoke with countless individuals who want to work in cybersecurity but aren’t willing to put the time into learning the fundamentals!! Work those IT Helpdesk jobs! We all start somewhere and starting in an Entry Level SOC role is not realistic without knowing the basics of IT. The practical experience will trump theory everyday and I was one of those who wanted to skip right to the good stuff! Now being in the position I am through practical growth and experience, I am managing service & security for a team and a company where I would otherwise be helpless without this prior knowledge. It is no wonder job recruiters so often overlook potential candidates as I’m coming to witness through my own hiring process why that is. I was not to good for my Tech Support 1 position, and I’m very thankful for the current journey I am on. I ask for those of you reading this and looking to break into cybersecurity,Time will lead to experience,Experience will lead to Compensation. We have to start somewhere, and I believe we have to start facing the hard truths! ⭐️

Practical experience will trump theory any day of the week. I highly recommend taking part in this course. Antisyphon Training is legit and nothing beats the training and knowledge John Strand and his team offer.Certifications are great, but it’s time to get your feet wet. Having taken this course myself, anyone looking to get into cybersecurity or those looking to expand their experience, check it out.For instance, through the hiring process where I’m looking for talent, certifications are great but when you mix them with practical experience it stands to make a big difference through the selection process.

🔒 Maximizing Security in your business: Best Practices for IT Security Meetings 🔒What are you doing to safeguard your organization's digital assets? As cyber threats continue to evolve, the frequency and depth of security meetings within your IT team play a pivotal role in fortifying your defenses. Here's a peek into how often our team convenes and the critical topics we cover: 🔸 Frequency Matters: Our IT team gathers weekly to assess our security posture. In a landscape where threats emerge at lightning speeds, regular meetings ensure we stay ahead of potential breaches and vulnerabilities. 🔸 Risk Assessments: At the heart of our discussions lies a meticulous examination of our business's risk landscape. We delve deep into identifying potential threats based on industry standard frameworks, and devise strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. 🔸 Handling Accepted Risk: Not all risks can be eliminated, but they can be managed. We devote time to discerning accepted risks and crafting mitigation plans. By acknowledging and addressing these risks, we bolster our resilience against unforeseen cyber adversities. 🔸Task Prioritization for Actionable Insights: Each meeting culminates in a strategic roadmap for the road ahead. We prioritize tasks based on their urgency and impact, ensuring that every action we take is laser-focused on fortifying our security posture. Additionally, we compile pertinent information to bring to the table for our next meeting, fostering a continuous cycle of improvement. In today's hyper-connected world, the integrity of our digital infrastructure is non-negotiable. By fostering a culture of proactive security discussions and leveraging the time spent in these security meetings, our IT team stands strong in safeguarding our organization's most valuable assets. Let's continue to strive towards security excellence together! #CyberSecurity #RiskManagement #ITStrategy
